HDPE pipes, with their comprehensive advantages such as corrosion resistance, long service life, zero leakage, flexibility, and ease of installation, have become the "green blood vessels" of modern pipeline networks. In new construction and renovation projects, they are rapidly replacing traditional metal and concrete pipes. Particularly in today's context where reliability and environmental requirements are increasingly stringent, their importance is becoming more and more prominent.
HDPE Pipe Advantages
Excellent corrosion resistance
It is inert to most chemicals (acids, bases, salts) and will not rust, scale, or breed microorganisms. This is its biggest advantage over metal pipes.
High toughness&impact resistance
Even at low temperatures, it has excellent impact resistance and is not easily broken. It can effectively resist the stress caused by ground subsidence and earthquakes.
Good flexibility
Can be supplied in rolls (small caliber) to reduce connection points. Capable of adapting to complex terrain, curved laying, and reducing the use of pipe fittings.
Lightweight
The density is much lower than that of concrete and metal pipes, making transportation, handling, and installation very convenient and reducing construction costs.
Excellent fluid performance
The inner wall is smooth, the friction coefficient is low, the conveying capacity is more than 30% higher than other pipes of the same specification, and the long-term energy consumption is low.
Reliable connection
Mainly using electric fusion connection. The interface strength is consistent with the pipe body, achieving zero leakage and completely solving the interface leakage problem of traditional pipelines.
Long lifespan
At rated temperature and pressure, the designed service life can reach 50-100 years.
Environmentally friendly and recyclable
The raw materials are recyclable and the production process has low energy consumption, which conforms to the concept of green environmental protection.
HDPE Pipe Application
Municipal water supply system: urban water supply main pipe and distribution pipe, is an ideal product to replace gray cast iron pipes and cement pipes.
Gas transmission: The main pipe material for medium and low pressure gas pipelines, with high safety.
Drainage and sewage system: used for urban sewage pipelines, rainwater collection systems, and industrial wastewater discharge.
Agricultural irrigation: The main and branch pipes of drip irrigation and sprinkler irrigation systems have good weather resistance.
Industrial pipelines: transport corrosive media, slurry, mud, etc.
Communication cable sheath: protects optical fibers and cables.
Deep sea aquaculture and other fields also have wide applications.
HDPE Pipe Construction and Connection Methods
Hot melt docking: suitable for straight connections of large-diameter pipes (usually ≥ 90mm). Heat the heating plate at the end of the tube to a molten state, then quickly connect and apply pressure, and cool it to form a whole.
Electric fusion connection: Use fittings with electric heating wires, heat the melted pipe and fitting interface after being powered on, and connect after cooling. Suitable for connecting, repairing, or space limited situations from different angles, with easier operation.
