Beyond bench-scale testing, the pilot-plant design should attempt to mimic the commercial plant as much as possible. The key element to this approach is ensuring that the reaction system is designed such that the catalyst bed operates as close as possible to expected commercial conditions. This includes the expected linear and radial temperature profiles, operating pressures, space velocity and number of stages. Linear velocity can be difficult to match, given potential limits on reactor length. Thus, to support scaleup, parametric studies should be done at varying linear velocities to determine whether bulk mass transfer is an issue at the lower velocities of the pilot scale. Additionally, startup and shutdown procedures should be synchronized with those of the future commercial plant and recommended by the catalyst supplier.

TX has been the topic of a number of research analyst reports. Goldman Sachs Group initiated coverage on shares of Ternium in a research note on Thursday, December 13th. Santander downgraded shares of Ternium from a “buy” rating to a “hold” rating in a research note on Wednesday, December 12th. Zacks Investment Research downgraded shares of Ternium from a “strong-buy” rating to a “hold” rating in a research note on Tuesday, October 23rd. Finally, ValuEngine raised shares of Ternium from a “strong sell” rating to a “sell” rating in a research note on Wednesday, January 2nd. Two equities research analysts have rated the stock with a sell rating, three have given a hold rating and three have issued a buy rating to the company. Ternium presently has an average rating of “Hold” and an average price target of $39.25.

I share her view of that particular experiment, though I don’t know why. I have flown single engine across the Atlantic and the Pacific, and even Lake Michigan, but I would feel uneasy flying two hours out to sea for no reason at all.

3 – Canadian astronaut David Saint-Jacques blasted off in a Russian Soyuz rocket bound for the International Space Station. The rocket, which was also carrying Anne McClain of NASA and Oleg Kononenko of the Russian space agency, successfully docked with the space station six hours later. During his six-month mission in space, the 48-year-old Saint-Jacques was to conduct a number of science experiments, with some focusing on the physical effects of the weak gravity astronauts experience in orbit as well as how to provide remote medical care.

Another recent release that I watched with the Defiance sub was ‘The Incredibles 2.’ Pixar movies, such as the first ‘Incredibles’ movie, is almost always a great source for dynamic low-frequency sound mixes, so I had guessed that ‘The Incredibles 2’ would be no exception. Indeed, ‘The Incredibles 2’ did have a great deal of low-frequency content and gave the subwoofer a good workout. Two stand-out deep bass moments are when the Incredibles have to stop a giant mining drill from destroying a city and also when they have to stop a large cruise ship from destroying the city. I used the V12 for this film and cranked the system volume loud to see if I could reach its limits. The V12 performed admirably considering what I was putting it through. It doesn’t have the power of the X12, but I do think most people would be very pleased with its level of performance. The V12 lively reproduced all the thuds and thumps of the superheroes doing battle. All of the structural damage that occurred was given an appropriate subterranean rumble. When the giant mining drill destroyed an overpass, the V12 thundered and gave life to the mayhem and chaos. While the V12 won’t match the strength of larger subs with more powerful amps, the good news is more what it doesn’t do; it doesn’t devolve into a muddy blur of bass. It is a small, modestly spec’d sub, and while it is not a powerhouse, it does not lose articulation. A less precise subwoofer will make crashes, gunshots, explosions, and punches all sound the same, but the V12 differentiated all of the bass sounds, even in busy scenes. People with dedicated home theaters are going to want something with more power, but for living rooms, bedrooms, and similar domestic quarters, the V12 will have more than enough SPL capability for most people.
