25 – Arizona Senator John McCain died of brain cancer one day after announcing he would not be seeking further treatment. He was 81. In more than three decades in Congress, McCain became known as a political maverick willing to stick to his convictions rather than go along with party leaders. The bitter rival of U.S. President Donald Trump famously cast the deciding no vote that stopped the Republican push to repeal Obamacare.

11 – Former Canadian diplomat Michael Kovrig, who has served as the North East Asia senior adviser for the International Crisis Group, as well as Canadian entrepreneur Michael Spavor were detained by China followed warnings from Beijing that Canada would face consequences for its arrest of tech giant Huawei’s chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou at Vancouver’s airport.

Furthermore, Potts alleges that between June 2015 and June 2016, Rives transferred $90,000 from Steel Tube to himself in monthly installments of $7,500. Potts says these transfers were never discussed with or approved by him.

VW contrasts this flat battery pack setup with that of the e-Golf, an internal combustion vehicle that was modified to fit batteries, and not a purpose-built EV. Its odd shaped battery, VW told us, isn’t cost or weight effective, requiring long connectors and strange mounts. The MEB battery, on the other hand, is apparently easier to scale up, easier to cool, easier to install, and—of course—it lowers the center of gravity and can yield more interior space.

Deutsche Bank AG raised its position in Ternium SA (NYSE:TX) by 24.3% in the third quarter, according to its most recent Form 13F filing with the SEC. The institutional investor owned 480,825 shares of the basic materials company’s stock after buying an additional 93,953 shares during the period. Deutsche Bank AG owned about 0.24% of Ternium worth $14,563,000 at the end of the most recent quarter.

Ternium (NYSE:TX) last announced its earnings results on Tuesday, October 30th. The basic materials company reported $2.49 EPS for the quarter, topping the Zacks’ consensus estimate of $1.60 by $0.89. Ternium had a return on equity of 21.81% and a net margin of 11.58%. The company had revenue of $2.90 billion for the quarter, compared to analysts’ expectations of $3.04 billion. During the same period last year, the firm earned $0.99 EPS. Ternium’s revenue for the quarter was up 14.5% compared to the same quarter last year. Equities research analysts anticipate that Ternium will post 6.89 EPS for the current year.

And so it did. I was at about 300 feet over a landscape of railroad tracks, power lines, trucks and cars when there was a loud thud and the engine lost power. But there was still a little left.
