22 – An alleged serial killer charged in the deaths of eight men with ties to Toronto’s gay village waived his right to a preliminary hearing. Bruce McArthur, a 67-year-old self-employed landscaper, was ordered to stand trial on eight counts of first-degree murder.

Deutsche Bank AG raised its position in Ternium SA (NYSE:TX) by 24.3% in the third quarter, according to its most recent Form 13F filing with the SEC. The institutional investor owned 480,825 shares of the basic materials company’s stock after buying an additional 93,953 shares during the period. Deutsche Bank AG owned about 0.24% of Ternium worth $14,563,000 at the end of the most recent quarter.

Ternium (NYSE:TX) last released its quarterly earnings data on Tuesday, October 30th. The basic materials company reported $2.49 EPS for the quarter, topping analysts’ consensus estimates of $1.60 by $0.89. The company had revenue of $2.90 billion for the quarter, compared to the consensus estimate of $3.04 billion. Ternium had a return on equity of 21.81% and a net margin of 11.58%. The company’s quarterly revenue was up 14.5% compared to the same quarter last year. During the same period last year, the business posted $0.99 EPS. As a group, research analysts forecast that Ternium will post 6.89 earnings per share for the current fiscal year.

29 – The US Securities and Exchange Commission and Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced a negotiated settlement of a suit filed against him for alleged securities fraud. The suit claimed his tweet in August that he had secured funding to take the company private was false and misleading. The settlement allowed Musk to remain as Tesla CEO but required him to step down as chairman for three years.

So I emphatically do not "take criticism of Trump's plan personally."  I am not convinced it is "Trump's plan," or for that matter if there even is any "Trump's Plan."  It seems to be lurching through the landscape akin to some drunk staggering out of a bar at closing hour.  Nobody can figure it out and nobody can see where it is going. OK, all that said, as outsiders looking in we see that certain tariffs are imposed, together with a ton of swagger and lots of insults directed at the rest of the planet.  Now, how do we analyze all that?  And that is where the intellectual challenge starts.
